A weeknight with Oskie

Soccer practice from 5:30 to 7:00, bedtime at 7:30. Here’s how Oskie fits dinner in.

  1. Oskie reads the calendar

It sees you’re busy from 5:30 to 7:00 and plans dinner for before you leave. Only the busy times leave your phone, never what the event is.

  2. Groceries go on your list

One tap sends the ingredients to your Reminders grocery list, scaled to how many you’re feeding. Things you always have, like salt and oil, stay off it.

  3. Start cooking

Cook mode shows one step at a time in big text, with timers that ring when the rice is done. Oskie gets grumbly as the start-by time gets close.

  4. Dinner’s on the table

Twenty minutes to eat before you head out. Oskie timed it. After a few cooks, it plans with how long a recipe really takes you, not what the recipe claims.

  5. Bedtime. On time.

Everyone ate, the kids are in pajamas, and Oskie has already had its fill of minutes.

What it looks like

A demo family’s week, a few minutes before five.

The Tonight screen: 2 hours 10 minutes to cook, bedtime 7:30. Tonight's dinner is turkey chili; start by 6:10 pm. Oskie is relaxed.
Tonight. How long you’ve got, what to make, and when to start.
The Week screen: Plan my week, tonight's turkey chili, and Wednesday flagged: salmon doesn't fit anymore, needs 30 minutes, 25 available.
The week. When the calendar changes, Oskie flags the dinners that no longer fit.
Wednesday's evening: cook 4:45 to 5:10, eat 5:10 to 5:30, soccer practice 5:30 to 7:00, bedtime 7:30.
Your evening. Soccer at 5:30? Dinner’s planned for before you leave.
Cook mode: step 1 of 4, brown the turkey with the onion, with a timer counting down.
Cook mode. One step at a time, big enough to read from the stove.

New ideas, like what you cook

Tired of the same seven dinners? Every day Oskie looks through a few well-loved cooking sites and picks out new dinners for you.

  • Matched to your taste. If you cook turkey chili and tacos, you’ll see more like them, not random recipes.
  • Fitted to your weeknights. Ideas that fit your usual evening come first; longer ones wait under “Weekend ideas”.
  • One tap to add. Oskie reads the ingredients, steps and times for you to check. Not your thing? “Not for us” and it’s gone.
